How Much Does a Home Inventory Cost?
I get this question quite a bit. Obviously I know how much I charge and I will be happy to give a price quote for my services. But in general, there are a few pricing 
structures that most home inventory professionals follow:
1. Square footage rate- Most home inventory professionals charge a certain amount per square foot of your house. This price per square foot can range depending on the level of detail, i.e.. written documentation, photographs, video or some combination of the three.
2. Hourly rate - Some home inventory professionals charge by the hour. Again, the hourly rate varies depending on the level of service. This rate may also be applied for processing time while your inventory is compiled at the office.
3. One price fee - Some home inventory professionals have a single fee regardless of the size of the home or how long it takes to complete. A variation of this is a set fee for certain documentation methods, i.e.. one price for written, another price for photos etc.
4. A combination - It's possible that the home inventory professional in your area has a pricing structure that combines these methods. I know a professional associate in another state who charges X amount per square foot up to 4 hours of in-home documentation time and then switches over to an hourly rate.
These are not the only home inventory methods of payment, just the most common. As with all professional services, payment structure 
is going to vary. Regardless of how much they charge, it is important to talk with your local home inventory professional beforehand so both parties understand the course of events. A good home inventory professional will let you know up front how he/she charges so there is absolutely no confusion.
